I have been working with FileMaker for over 12 years now. I have a varied background. I started off helping my father run his auto body repair shop in Montreal. Moved on from there to work as a professional musician for a number of years, then decided to return to school to pursue an interest in Physics. When I returned to Concordia University I majored in Physics and minored in Music. What I enjoyed most about my time studying was that I was applying my knowledge immediately in the real world.
To get through school I decided sell some of the hand made chimes ... little did I know that this was going to be much more of an endeavor that I was ready for. I bought a mac plus in 1985 and soon afterwards was enthralled by what was possible with technology. I was self-taught at first - using FileMaker Pro 2.1, excel, and word to run my business. It was a seasonal company so when things would slow down I would turn to learning more about FileMaker and improving my business systems. When the recession hit I sought some teaching work at a local college in Montreal. This then led to some consulting opportunities. In 1996 I moved to Toronto and worked as a consultant for the Ministry of Education on a very large FileMaker project that was being rolled out for the entire province. I worked for a company called Media-X based out of Ottawa. While in Ontario I started to focus my attention more on products rather than consulting.
Then in 1999 moved to Sedona, Arizona for a year and continued to build and maintain products. Sedona was wonderful but needed to be closer to Phoenix so moved to Phoenix, Arizona and continued building, and developing products and solutions using FileMaker pro.
I am planning on living in California and continuing to work in the FileMaker community by offering Training, Consulting, and new products TBA.
